Dingo was taken to the vets yesterday (27/10/20) because he was unwell and had an ultrasound on his heart.
On examination, it was discovered that Dingo has a problem with enlarged heart valves and his heart doesn't beat at it's normal frequency.
Due to poor blood flow, sometimes Dingo doesn't get enough oxygen in his lungs and brain and that's what was the cause of his problems for us to take him in.
The vet has prescribed Vetmedin for his heart.
These tablets are very expensive in Bosnia (and other parts of Europe).
Dingo needs one 5 mg tablet a day to literally keep him alive and each table costs 2.5 euros.
A month's worth - 30 tablets - will cost 75 euros.
The medicine manufacturer says in their literature that improvements can be seen after only 1 week, so we are very keen to put Dingo on this course of treatment as soon as possible.
Any donations for Dingo's health would be much appreciated.
If there are any UK vets out there who can supply Vetmedin, we would like to hear from you. We know it's only available on prescription.
