The reason why we insist that potential adopters for this dog are experienced dog owners is 2-fold :-

1. The dog is timid with some humans because of its past experiences on the streets.

2. There may be a need for extra training once the dog arrives in the UK e.g. extra lead training because of the dog's traumatic experience at the hands of the dog catchers.

We trust that you understand why we insist on this for our dogs.

Axel is a 5-year-old male dog who is looking for his forever home. He is a friendly and sweet dog, but he is afraid of the leash because he was brutally captured by dog catchers in the past. He needs sensitive people with experience to show him love and kindness. He gets on brilliantly with all other dogs.

Axel is a very special dog who deserves a loving home. He is full of love and joy, and he just wants to be loved and cared for. He is a great companion and would make a wonderful addition to any family.

If you are interested in adopting Axel, please contact us at the shelter.

Either way, we will be very happy to hear from you.

Alternatively, Fosterers are always wanted. If you feel you could help in the short term to foster one of ours dogs, please complete the foster application form here.

Thank you.

Adopting from our shelter is probably easier than you think. Before adoption, all dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, treated for worms and fleas, and have their own passports. To help defer those costs, we ask for a donation fee of 500 Euros (approx £430) which includes adoption fee and transportation costs. As the transport costs do vary, we can help with fundraising for these costs if necessary.
